"Am I Black Enough For You?" was a 1972 song written by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff for Billy Paul. The single was so overtly political it is said to have permanently stalled his career. This mix also features a reggae cover from 1973 by Chosen Few as well as a interpolation by Schoolly D in 1989.
"Girls & Boys" is from the 1986 Prince album Parade, and was released as a single in the UK, where it was a hit, but not in the US. This mix features a cover by Marcus Miller with Macy Gray and Kenny Jarrett as well as a cover by The Dynamics to accompany the original.
"A Crime" is the opening track from Sharon Van Etten's 2010 EP Epic. This mix also includes a recent cover by Greg Dulli.
