"Rock Steady" is a top 10 single from 1971 by Aretha Franklin, featuring the legendary Bernard "Pretty" Purdie on drums. This week features covers from that decade by The Marvels and The Jackson Sisters as well as EPMD's "I'm Housin", from their 1988 debut, which samples the original Franklin single that starts this mix.
"Friday I'm In Love" is a single from May 1992 by The Cure, reaching the top 20 as their last hit. This mix features recent covers by Yo La Tengo and Dean & Britta as well as the original.
