"Presence Of The Lord" appears on the eponymous and only 1969 album by rock supergroup Blind Faith. It was the first song for which Eric Clapton wrote all the lyrics, and on this version Stevie Winwood sang them. This mix features the original, a version a year or so later with Clapton singing the lead for his next group Derek & The Dominoes performing live sans Duane Allman at Fillmore East as well as a more recent cover by Lizz Wright.
"Isn't It A Pity" is a song from the following year by Clapton's good friend, ex-Beatle George Harrison. It appears on his debut album All Things Must Pass and an early Beatles bootleg take as well as both of his album versions have appeared with covers by Nina Simone, Bettye Lavette, Elliott Smith, Cowboy Junkies, Nicky Thomas and Galaxie 500 on previous mixes. This mix includes versions by Jackie DeShannon, The Three Degrees and Television Personalities.
One other song appears this week: two versions of Marvin Gaye's "Falling In Love" from his 1978 album Here, My Dear.
