"Dark Eyes" is the final song on Bob Dylan's 1985 album "Empire Burlesque". This mix features versions by Dawn Landes & Bonnie 'Prince" Billy, Nathan Salzburg & Joan Shelley, Iron & Wine with Calexico and The Proper Way and Carrie Meyers as well as the original.
Three other songs repeat across the mix: Radiohead's "Scatterbrain" from their 2003 album Hail To The Thief, with a recent cover by Car Seat Headrest, the standard "Chinatown, My Chinatown" with versions by Louis Armstrong & His Orchestra as well as Al Jolson, and "You Get Tangle In Your Lifeline" first recorded by Motown artist Blinky then by Esther Phillips.
The rest: a cover of Dylan's "Lay Lady Lay" by The Isley Brothers, the atmospheric "One More Time" by Salty Miller, the remix of the apocalyptic "Chinatown Wars" by DOOM with Ghostface Killah, Puff Daddy's "Victory" with The Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes which samples Bill Conti's "Gonna Fly Now (Theme From Rocky)", Sonic Youth's haunting "Beauty Lies In the Eye", Liam Lynch's snide "United States Of Whatever", the satiric "Part Time Punks" by Television Personalities, a punk cover of The Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" by The Avengers and Black Star's recent "O.G."
