"Moonshiner" is a traditional folk song first recorded in the 1930s. This week's mix features versions by Roscoe Holcomb, Cat Power and Bob Dylan.
"Because The Night"was written by Bruce Springsteen in the late 1970s and left off his album Darkness Of The Edge Of Town. Patti Smith recorded it in 1978 and it became one of her most popular songs, and one for which she received co-writing credit. This mix includes her version and the unreleased Springsteen studio version along with a live version by Patti Lupone.
Two other songs repeat across the mix: Duran Duran's "Save A Prayer" with a cover by Kate Walsh and Fang's "The Money Will Roll Right In" with a live cover by Nirvana.
