"Take It Easy" is a song co-written by Jackson Browne and Glenn Frey. The latter recorded the first version as the debut single for his band The Eagles, who had a #12 hit with in in 1972. Browne recorded his own version for an album the following year but that single did not chart. This mix includes both versions as well as a cover by Buck Owens from 1978.
"It Don't Come Easy" was co-written by former Beatles Ringo Starr and George Harrison, but credited to Starr only. It was a non-album single from 1971, Starr's first since the breakup of the Beatles. Harrison plays guitar on the track. A previous mix featured the original single. This mix features a liver version by Starr with Harrison from the 1971 Concert For Bangladesh, a recent cover by Bettye Lavette and a rare studio version by Harrison with the same basic backing as the single except with some "hare krishna" chorus.
One other song repeats this week: the album and 45 versions of "Try Me" by the enigmatic former street hustler Wee, from his only album You Can Fly My Aeroplane released in 1977.
