"(What Did I Do To Be So) Black And Blue?" was written, but not recorded, by Fat Waller for Edith Wilson to record in the 1929 musical Hot Chocolates. Blues singer Ethel Waters recorded a version a year later. In addition to these two versions, this week's mix features two versions by Louis Armstrong: an early version with his orchestra during the famous Hot 5 & 7 recordings and another recorded decades later.
"Moment Of Clarity" appears on Jay-Z's Black album. This week's mix features Dangermouse's mash up of this with "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" by The Beatles as well as other versions mixed with "Optimistic" by Radiohead and "Do, Me Baby" by Prince. These songs also appear here separately.
