12-01-05: I Reminisce With Bliss Of When We Was Closer

This mix from four years ago begins ominously with Tom Waits' apocalyptic "The Earth Died Screaming", followed by the ancient soft drink jingle "I Got Your Ice Cold Nugrape" by The Nugrape Twins.

Gordon Lightfoot's "Early Morning Rain" is featured on here along with two covers by Bob Dylan and Paul Weller.

Also featured on here twice is "New Kind Of Kick" by the Cramps, with a live cover by The Jesus & Mary Chain as well as Run-D.M.C.'s demo of "Slow And Low", which was later officially released in a cover by The Beastie Boys.

Other stuff: The Pointer Sisters with the Stevie Wonder-written "Sleeping Alone", Justin Hinds & The Dominoes' hopeful "Teach The Youth", KRS-One's fierce "Sound Of Da Police", Broadcast's swirling "America's Boy", Billie Holiday's version of the standard "Fine And Mellow", Billy Squier's catchy "In The Dark", Kool Keith's explicit "Sex Style", Betty Davis' seductive "Anti Love Song", Main Source's determined "Looking At The Front Door", the chipper "You Get What You Give" by New Radicals, Frank Sinatra's cover of Billy Joel's "Just The Way You Are", Allen Toussaint's funky "Either" and Neil Young's hopeful "When The Morning Comes".
