"You Make Me Feel Brand New" was written by the Philadelphian songwriting team Thom Bell and Linda Creed, and first recorded by The Stylistics in 1974. In addition to their hit version, this week's mix features versions by Inner Circle and Peggy Lee.  Additionally, Yung Joc's "Brand New" featuring Snoop Dogg and Rick Ross is built on a sample of the original Stylistics single.

"High On Sunshine" first appeared on The Commodores 1976 album Hot On The Tracks. This week features that version as well as covers by Benny Golson and The 5Th Dimension.

One other song repeats across the mix: Merle Haggard's "If We're Not In Love By Monday", with a slightly different titled cover by Millie Jackson called "If You're Not In LOve By Monday".  Her version on here is an alternate take to the modest hit version from 1977.

JJ Doom is the new collaboration between Jneiro Jarel and MF Doom. "Guv'nor" is on the new album. The version of Nas's "Street Dreams" on here is a remix with MF Doom production.
