This mix from last year features four versions of Bob Dylan's heartfelt "She Belongs To Me". In addition to the original, I have a live version by The Grateful Dead as well as covers by Ricky Nelson and Leon Russell with The Shelter People.
Bob is also featured on here with witty commentary from his radio show in snippets called "Tantric Sex" and "Bragging". Not surprisingly, these pieces are bracketed by Billy Ward & His Dominoes' "Sixty Minute Man" and Sting's live cover of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine".
Those four pieces are followed somewhat thematically by an anonymous piece of 70s adult film soundtrack called "Carl's Cabana", Dawn Davis' risque for the 30's "Private Affair" and UGK's salacious "Like That".
Other stuff: the playful "My Baby Must Be A Magician" by The Marvelettes, a Robert Hall commercial jingle by Les Paul with Mary Ford, Gary Numan's paranoid "Films", Zapp's funky "More Bounce To The Ounce", Madlib's odd "Black Mozart", the strange "Shaking Weed Blues" by Tommy Settlers And His Blue Moaner, Eddie Holman's sweet "Hey There Lonely Girl", Beny More's swinging "Maracaibo Oriental", GZA's Gary Numan-sampling "LIfe Is A Movie", William Bell's empathetic "The Man In The Street', Tomm Petty & The Heartbreakers' ambivalent "All Mixed Up", John Barry's majest James Bond soundtrack work called "007 And Counting", Bob Dylan's wordless singing on the soundtrack piece "River Theme" and mash up by ToToM of The Clash with The Cure called "In Between Trains In Vain".
