06-28-07: Scooby Snack Jurassic Plastic Gas Booby Trap

"War Bombs" is the unlikely mash-up of George W. Bush over music from The Gap Band, Edwin Starr, Black Sabbath and Outkast.

Private Cecil Gant's 1945 standard "I Wonder" is featured on this mix from a couple years back along with covers by Marvin Gaye and Lou Rawls. The country standard "The Three Bells" by The Browns is also featured with a cover by Ray Charles alongside the original.

Other stuff: Cibo Matto's jazzy Nirvana cover "About A Girl", Nirvana's "unplugged" cover of David Bowie's "The Man Who Sold The World", David Bowie with Queen on the dramatic "Under Pressure", Chuck Berry's Latin-tinged "La Juanda", Ghostface Killah's breathless "Nutmeg", the exuberant "Yaaka Hula Hickey Dula" by George Lewis & His New Orleans Music, the innocent "The Flight Of Astronaut John Glenn" by Joe Bussard & Oscar Myers, The Sex Pistols' raucous cover of "Substitute" by The Who, a solo demo of The Who's "The Magic Bus" by Pete Townshend, Elvis Costello's hushed "Beyond Belief", Real Live's menacing "Pop The Trunk", a reggae cover of Paul McCartney's "Live And Let Die" by Byron Lee & The Dragonaires, Paul McCartney''s self-effacing "Silly Love Songs", the gentle "Want To Know" by Rotary Connection featuring Minnie Riperton, Josh Rouse cover of The Smiths' "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want", a solo version of the wistful "Girl In Saskatoon" by Johnny Cash, and a solo demo of "Mind Games (Make Love, Not War)" by John Lennon.
