"With Tomorrow" appears on the 1971 album White Light by former Byrd Gene Clark. This week features covers by Hopewell and This Mortal Coil as well as the original.

"Tonight Will Be Fine" is from Leonard Cohen's second album, Songs From A Room, released in 1969.  This week features the original with covers by Flatt & Scruggs as well as Teddy Thompson performing live.

One other song appears twice: the album and acoustic demo versions of "Rudderless" by The Lemonheads.

Keni Burke's "Risin' To The Top" was released as a single in 1982 and a moderate R&B hit, especially in his hometown Chicago. It also provided a key sample in many hip hop songs, including a few featured here: LL Cool J's "Around The Way Girl", Nas' "Hey Nas" and "Keep Rising To The Top" by Doug E. Fresh.

The rest: the energetic bop of John Coltrane's "Song Of The Underground Railroad", a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Lodi" by Al Wilson, a cover of Sly & The Family Stone's "Family Affair" by former Temptations David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks, George Michael's gospel-inflected "Father Figure", Keith Richards' Stax-influenced "Make No Mistake", the dramatic "A Face In The Crowd" by The Kinks, the reflective "Buckets Of Rain" by Bob Dylan and a demo version of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain".
