"I Wish I Knew (How It Feel To Be Free)" was originally recorded in the late 60s by Nina Simone and of course has both spiritual and civil rights overtones. This mix from last year includes versions by Solomon Burke and Marlena Shaw as well as Nina's take.
Also on here twice is Van Morrison's "Brand New Day": both the Moondance album version and a rare acoustic demo.

Lee, Bill Evans gentle version of the Disney standard "When You Wish Upon A Star", Johnny Horton's morose "Another Woman Wears My Wedding Ring", a live acoustic version of "Just Like A Woman" by Bob Dylan from his 70s tour with The Band and a stripped down acoustic version of "Here Comes A Regular" by The Replacements.
