This mix from five years ago does not feature a particular song or artist, but as it was immediately before a US Presidential Election I imagine the one-two punch of the hip hop songs "Simon Says (Get The Fuck Up)" by Pharoahe Monche and Black Sheep's "The Choice Is Yours (Revisited)" was an intentional nod to the election. As was, perhaps Eddie Kendricks's determined "My People...Hold On" and the closing demo version of "American Tune" by Paul Simon.
The alternate version of "The Guns Of Brixton" by The Clash on here is preceded by the original version of another song on The Clash's "London Calling" album: "Brand New Cadillac" by Vince Taylor & His Playboys.
