This mix from last year was thrown together shortly after Isaac Hayes died, and features two tracks from his Hot Buttered Soul album: "Hyperbolicsyallabiccsesquedalymystic" and his version of the Burt Bacharach standard "Walk On By". Also on here is the duet between Isaac and his old writing partner David Porter, "Ain't That Loving You (For More Reasosn Than One)" as well as a cover of a song they wrote for Sam & Dave, "Thank You", which is interpreted as a gospel song "I Thank The Lord" by Mighty Voices Of Wonder.
Other stuff: DJ Jazzy Jeff's remix of Slum Village's "Players"; a mash up of Chicago-themed artists Kanye West, Wilco, Liz Phair and the 1985 Chicago Bears by The Hood Internet into something called "Superbowl Jesus"; Bob Dylan's rambling "Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again"; Stevie Wonder's funky "All Day Sucker"; The Gap Band's goofy "Oops Upside Your Head"; the bouncy "Jive Talkin'" by The Bee Gees; 15-16-17's reggae cover of The Bee Gees hit with Smantha Sang "Emotion"; the blissful "Sugar Magnolia" by The Grateful Dead; Dorothy Masuka's airy "Zoo Lake"; Clifford Brown's elegant take of the standard "Laura"; and the last two tracks on Raekwon's classic album Only Built For Cuban Linx, "Heaven & Hell" and "North Star".
