I've always loved the non-album Bob Dylan song "Up To Me" and around the time of this mix from four years ago I found a cover by ex-Byrds leader Roger McGuinn so both versions grace this mix.
Other stuff: The Kinks' bittersweet "Better Things", Beulah's playful "Popular Mechanics For Lovers", OK Go's cover of The Zombies' "This Will Be Our Year", Bobby Womack's tale of life on the road called "Facts Of Life/He'll Be There When The Sun Goes Down", the ethereal "Heaven" by The Rolling Stones, Ahmad Jamal's cover of Foster Sylvers' "Misdemeanor", Donna Summer's ambivalent "On The Radio", Marvin Gaye's funky "The World Is Rated X" (alt mix)", the fuzzy guitar of "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)" by The Rolling Stones, the chaotic "Kool Keith Wild" by The Ultramagnetic MCs, the bizarrely paranoid "Red Angel Dragnet" by The Clash, a demo of "Power To The People" by Curtis Mayfield, a live version of "You've Been Hiding Too Long" by Bob Dylan, the sweetly mournful "Your Love Has Faded" by Johnny Hodges, the wistful "Ten Years Gone" by Led Zeppelin, Tom Waits' haunting "Green Grass", Ray Charles' soothing "Sunshine" and Jim Croce's melancholy "New York Is Not My Home".
